Welcome to my website macmillanphotography.com. My name is David Macmillan, and it all started when my fiancé purchased me a Canon 60D as an engagement present, and I have been addicted to photography ever since.
I live in Fife which presents many fantastic opportunities for Photography, which is great for getting a local fix after the day job has stopped getting in the way. When I’m in the big hills I’m in my element, and when I get the chance I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding and hill walking. These trips around Scotland present even more opportunities for photography and I enjoy taking pictures as much as the action itself.
If I’m not taking part in an event, you can find me trackside at mountain bike races in particular, grabbing some of the action for people that want to see or buy the images.
A couple of highlights so far have to be getting shortlisted for the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Photography competition. From around 300 entries my photograph ‘Sparks on Bridge Construction’ made the top 10 and was put on exhibition in London. Another highlight has to be being in the right place for the recent partial solar eclipse, where blue skies gave me the picture I had been wanting to create, setting the eclipse into a seascape scene.
You can follow my Facebook page which is updated frequently with all the things I get up to with my camera, and there is also a blog on here which I will try to update regularly. (Link in footer of this website).
I also have a selection of prints available for purchase in the ‘Shop’ section.
Thanks for looking.
